Before you begin
- Complete "Register a Patient and Book an OPD Appointment" first so the patient is registered, has a booked appointment, and is checked into the OPD queue.
Step-by-step instructions
8 steps- 1
Locate the patient in the queue
Sign in as the nurse, open the Queue, and locate the patient using their name and token number.
- 2
Verify the visit before recording anything
Confirm the correct patient, appointment, and assigned doctor before opening the appointment's Vitals section and selecting Record Vitals.
- 3
Record the core vital signs
Enter blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, and temperature. CareOS can show visual range indicators as clinical prompts, not a diagnosis.
- 4
Record height, weight, pain and glucose
Enter height and weight — CareOS calculates BMI automatically — then record a pain score and a blood glucose reading.
- 5
Add a custom measurement
Use Add measurement to record a measurement that isn't part of the standard fields, along with any clinical observations for the visit.
- 6
Save the vitals
Review all recorded measurements and select Save Vitals. The reading is saved with the recording time and the staff member who recorded it.
- 7
Review vitals history
Open Vitals history to review the saved reading alongside any available trends over time.
- 8
Call the patient for the doctor
With vitals recorded, select Call to move the patient to the Called state, handing the visit off to the doctor.
