Before you begin
- Complete "Record Patient Vitals" first so the patient's vitals are recorded and the patient has been called in for consultation.
Step-by-step instructions
8 steps- 1
Find the patient in My Appointments
Sign in as the doctor and use My Appointments on the right to see the schedule for the day, positioned by time with patient, status, and reason shown on each card.
- 2
Start the consultation
Open the appointment and select View Details, then move to the Queue and select Start Consulting to move the visit to In Progress and create the encounter.
- 3
Review vitals and history
Before documenting anything, review the vitals already recorded by the nurse in Vitals history, along with any available medical history, prior appointments, and prescriptions.
- 4
Record a diagnosis and consultation report
Under Diagnosis and Reports, add a diagnosis with a title and clinically reviewed details, then add a consultation report and save both to the encounter.
- 5
Create the prescription
Select Add New Prescription. CareOS identifies the signed-in doctor as the prescriber. Search for the medicine and add dosage, frequency, duration, and instructions, then save.
- 6
Review, print, and record a share
Open the saved prescription to review the patient, prescriber, medicine, and instructions. Print it if a physical copy is needed, or use Share to record the sharing channel in the audit trail.
- 7
Verify documentation and complete the visit
Confirm the diagnosis, consultation report, and prescription are all saved, then select Complete to close out the visit.
- 8
Review the connected record
Confirm the appointment, vitals, clinical records, and prescription all remain connected as one hospital record, and that My Appointments reflects the completed visit.
